Mia mamma me ne comprò una classica, anche se io volevo un suono diverso perché (casualmente) comprai un disco degli Iron Maiden e mi innamorai della chitarra elettrica.
- A proposito di copertine: come gli Iron Maiden anche gli 883 (i quali abbiamo capito che ti piacciono tanto) hanno prodotto dischi con copertine a dir poco originali. In particolare la band di Max Pezzali usava dei fumetti. In questo contesto arriviamo alla tua amicizia con Zerocalcare che ha prodotto il video di “Ipocondria” seguendo questa scia. Un commento sotto lo stesso video recita “L’eroe di cui abbiamo assolutamente bisogno ma che non ci meritiamo per niente”. Che ne pensi?
G: Chi ha scritto questo deve avere dei seri problemi ahahah!

G: Sì. Con Edda per esempio, ma anche con Motta.

G: Con Roma ho un rapporto di amore-odio costante. Più odio che amore anche se penso sia una specie di droga quella che ti crea Roma quando ci nasci. Chi viene da fuori, infatti, non si potrà mai abituare ad una realtà che è estrema. Tanto per fare un esempio: per fare 6 chilometri potresti impiegare 3 ore! Quasi converrebbe andare a piedi…
Tanto odio quindi, però… Ogni volta che parto sento sempre il desiderio di tornare, ho i miei spazi e la mia dimensione. In sostanza, faccio il musicista anche per colpa di Roma! Ho provato a fare lavori di altro genere ma è stato sempre un incubo!

G: “Accollo” è una parola che uso molto spesso. A Roma viene usata per indicare qualcuno che rompe i coglioni!
- Le tue canzoni sono molto esplicite, anche perchè caratterizzate da una forte vocazione popolare! Ti senti di sostituire in qualche modo quelle persone che non avrebbero il coraggio di affrontare in questo modo la realtà?
G: In realtà nemmeno io ce lo avrei! Sono una persona molto timida e solo grazie al palco riesco ad aprirmi e ad esprimermi liberamente, fin troppo ahahah. Qualsiasi cosa mi venga in mente la esterno (giusta o sbagliata che sia). Non vorrei mai perdere questo, anche perché durante un concerto mi sento veramente bene!
Tutto quello che faccio è spontaneo. Anche il progetto che sto portando avanti è “casuale”, nato in casa, di notte, scrivendo e suonando con la chitarra. Ho pubblicato dei pezzi online e sono stato chiamato per delle esibizioni. L’evoluzione del progetto ha poi portato alla costituzione di un gruppo di numeroso: siamo in 6 e non abbiamo praticamente mai provato insieme! Mi fido talmente tanto delle persone che suonano insieme a me che anche gli errori rientrano nel mio concetto di fare musica in libertà, insieme.
