Ciao a tutti! Che dire, stiamo molto bene! Il nostro ultimo singolo Rise Another Day sta riscuotendo degli ottimi consensi soprattutto dai nostri ascoltatori, il che non può far altro che farci molto piacere e renderci orgogliosi.
- Voi siete una band Progressive Rock, ma nel vostro sound si può ricnoscere anche una componente Metal e anche un po’ di Pop. Quali sono le vostre influenze principali?
Esatto, siamo una band Progressive Rock un po’ “farlocca”. Infatti ci piace definirci una band libera da vincoli di genere, cosa che è anche espressa appunto nel nome del nostro progetto: “Out Of The Edge” sta infatti a significare che non ci piace chiuderci all’interno di un confine di genere preciso. Per cui in realtà, essendo che specie ai nostri giorni è importante avere un genere che definisca la band, il Progressive è quello che, tra tutti, ci dà più libertà di espressione. Le nostre influenze, come immagino si possa intuire, sono delle più svariate e, per nominarne alcune, dovremmo sicuramente citare band come Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Foo Fighters, Muse, Biffy Cyro, Nothing But Thieves e Avenged Sevenfold.
- Passiamo ora al vostro singolo Rise Another Day: i miei complimenti per il brano, parlateci della sua storia.
Grazie mille per i complimenti, che fanno sempre molto piacere. Il brano è nato subito con l’idea di accompagnare il videoclip che avrebbe avuto la funzione di trailer pilota del nostro progetto Shadows, progetto che stiamo iniziando a produrre proprio in questo periodo. Avendo già in mente bene di cosa avrebbe parlato il cortometraggio di cui sarebbe stato il trailer, abbiamo composto il brano con due intenti principali: da una parte l’esigenza che fosse un brano diretto e che arrivasse subito senza tanti fronzoli musicali o giri di parole e dall’altra la voglia di inserire dei riferimenti a quello che sarà Shadows sia attraverso il testo, sia attraverso il mondo sonoro e musicale.
- Cosa dobbiamo aspettarci dal vostro progetto Shadows?
Shadows sarà il progetto che segnerà una svolta decisiva al nostro modo di affrontare la composizione musicale. Il nostro progetto consiste infatti nella scrittura e nella produzione di un cortometraggio che poi musicheremo attraverso la composizione della colonna sonora originale e questa sarà parte del nostro nuovo album. Più di questo non ci sentiamo di dire, ma se vi può interessare farvi un’idea di cosa potrebbe essere Shadows, sicuramente vi consigliamo di darvi un’occhiata approfondita al videoclip di Rise Another Day, disponibile sul nostro canale YouTube.
- Come vi siete trovati in studio con Larsen Premoli presso il RecLab Studios di Milano?
Benissimo, senza ombra di dubbio. È questo il motivo per cui anche dopo la produzione del nostro EP di debutto Birth abbiamo comunque deciso di tornare da Larsen. Registrare ai RecLab Studios è sempre un’esperienza speciale: è come sentirsi a casa e con amici e questo aiuta molto a livello artistico.
- Ultima domanda, com’è il vostro modo di scrivere brani?
Questa è una domanda difficile. Il nostro modo di comporre è sempre diverso e cambia davvero da brano a brano. L’unica cosa che resta comune è il fatto che tutto inizia da un lavoro di composizione iniziale da parte di Luca, il nostro batterista e mente del progetto. Dopodiché quello che succede varia, a volte ciascuno viene coinvolto per apportare delle modifiche alla sua parte, a volte invece viene chiesto proprio di pensarla insieme o addirittura in autonomia e totale fiducia.
