Mercoledì 6 Marzo al Circolo Artistico di Arezzo, la redazione di Koinervetti ha avuto il piacere e l’onore di fare quattro chiacchiere con una delle band più famose in Italia: i Negrita.
La band, rappresentata dai tre membri fondatori Enrico Salvi, Cesare Petricich e Paolo Bruni, ha concluso il suo instore tour dedicato alla nuova raccolta I ragazzi stanno bene (1994-2019) nella loro città: Arezzo.
Abbiamo parlato di Sanremo, del rapporto con gli altri artisti italiani e tanto altro ancora:

K: Ciao Pau! Com’è ritornare di nuovo in patria?
Pau: Mah, in patria alla fine non siamo mai andati via, la verità è questa. Però in veste ufficiale da musicisti, io di solito sono ad Arezzo come Paolo Bruni, invece oggi ero vestito da Pau! (ride)
Quindi è bello, è emozionante, all’inizio hai anche un po’ di timore, perché sai benissimo che con metà sala, in un modo o nell’altro, hai già avuto a che fare in tutti questi anni, qualcuno è uscito con te, qualcun’altro ha portato pure i figli. Insomma, è bello ma ti carica anche di responsabilità, devi stare sempre un po’ attento a quello che dici, però va bene così (ride).
K: Riguardo a Sanremo, sono passati 16 anni dalla prima partecipazione dei Negrita: la prima volta è stata nel 2003. Com’è stato ritornare dopo così tanto tempo? Com’era il clima?
Pau: Allora, noi 16 anni fa eravamo 16 anni più giovani, almeno mi sembra… No? (ride)
K: Credo di sì! (rido)
Pau: A parte scherzi, intanto noi ci andammo – come dire – senza paranoie e devo dire che è andata bene così, perché non fu un’edizione speciale, nessuno si ricorda chi ha vinto quell’anno lì. 16 anni dopo ci arrivi con un’altra consapevolezza, hai anche affinato le tue armi, porti la tua musica un po’ più approfondita: ci siamo andati sapendo cosa dovevamo cantare, la tematica e gli argomenti del testo. Avevamo la piena consapevolezza che saremmo andati incontro a qualche polemica, ovviamente perché ci siamo schierati, abbiamo preso delle posizioni importanti su determinati argomenti.
Il caso ha voluto che la settimana prima del Festival scattasse proprio la polemica in conferenza stampa con Baglioni sul risultato dei migranti e quindi alla fine ci siamo ritrovati in questo calderone. Ma devo dire che lo abbiamo fatto con molto distacco: nel senso che, profondo rispetto per l’Ariston, perché quel palco ha fatto una bella fetta di storia della musica italiana, però avevamo anche l’esigenza di essere noi stessi, quindi non andare lì a fare “i lecchini di Sanremo” ma volevamo essere noi stessi e alla fine ci siamo riusciti, abbiamo dimostrato che abbiamo una certa padronanza del palco. Noi siamo questo, quindi se vi piace bene, se non vi piace, raga, AMEN!
K: Invece il rapporto con gli altri concorrenti?
Pau: Ma guarda, lì c’erano delle amicizie pregresse, con Francesco Renga ci conosciamo dai tempi dei Timoria. Con Nek ci siamo conosciuti quest’anno e ci siamo fatti delle grasse risate. Poi a Sanremo, avendo ognuno molto da fare, ci siamo purtroppo frequentati un po’ poco però è forte anche lui. Poi siamo arrivati con Francesco Motta, che il suo management è aretino, quindi ci conosciamo anche con lui da quando ha fatto il primo album.
Siamo diventato amici anche con qualcuno che non avremmo mai detto, con Briga. Mi ha telefonato prima che iniziassimo qua, e mi ha detto (in dialetto romano): “Oh! Ma che stai a Roma?“ e io “No, so’ tornato” (ride). Poi siamo in buoni rapporti con Achille Lauro, abbiamo conosciuto in tempi non sospetti Mahmood (prima che lo incoronassero), una persona squisita, veramente squisita, che ha una bellissima voce, nonostante non sono un amante della Trap e dei suoi derivati, devo dire che lui invece è molto bravo, talentuoso, così come Ghemon. Poi ci sono quegli scavezzacollo degli Zen Circus… Insomma è andata molto bene, con metà cast sembrava di essere al primo Maggio o Arezzo Wave. L’altra metà era più del tipo “mettiamoci le mani nei capelli”, ma non avendoli…
K: A proposito, Ti vorrei far vedere questo reperto:
Pau: Oooooooh paura! Questa è una delle nostre prime foto ufficiali, quando ci chiamavamo “Gli Inudibili”, era la sessione del nostro primo 45 giri, questa è una scartata. L’hanno fatta nell’unico pub che in quegli anni esisteva ad Arezzo, si chiamava “Number One”.
K: Ultima domanda: cambiamo un attimo passato, precisamente 4 anni fa i Negrita pubblicavano l’album 9.C’è qualche aneddoto a riguardo che ci volete raccontare?
Pau: Allora quel disco lì lo abbiamo registrato in Irlanda. Siamo andati nel centro, proprio in mezzo all’Irlanda, vicino a Tullamore, dove fanno dell’ottimo whisky: il Tullamore Dew. Diciamo che è un disco che è andato avanti in una condizione atmosferica allucinante. Credo che siamo gli unici non irlandesi che sono andati a registrare in Irlanda d’inverno e quindi noi abbiamo visto solamente pioggia battente, pecore, capre, caprette, mucche, un vento che spazzava via tutto, però nonostante ciò ci siamo molto divertiti. Abbiamo scoperto inoltre che con una dieta non mediterranea possiamo sopravvivere, cioè con la Guinness e con il whisky ci si può fare (ride)
