È tempo di Kilowatt Festival! Prosegue la stimolante collaborazione con l’omonimo progetto, in occasione dell’evento che dal 19 al 27 luglio allieterà Sansepolcro.
Una “residenza creativa” per le più svariate forme d’arte e dalla quale è sbocciata una compagnia teatrale, raccontata dalla passione del direttore artistico Luca Ricci (e gestita con Lucia Franchi, direttrice amministrativa di Kilowatt), protagonista del primo di una serie di #ATuPerTu dedicati al festival.
K: Quali sono i vostri percorsi artistici? Come è nata l’esigenza di creare una compagnia teatrale?
L: Lucia ed io ci conosciamo da 25 anni ed il teatro è stato uno dei “collanti” del nostro rapporto. Io frequentavo dei laboratori con una compagnia professionale di Firenze, e Lucia partecipava ad un qualcosa di simile a Perugia. In questi contesti ci siamo conosciuti e fra di noi è nato anche un rapporto personale (visto che nel frattempo ci siamo anche sposati). Tuttavia, è stato il teatro ad avvicinarci, per questo, al termine della collaborazione con un’associazione di Pieve Santo Stefano abbiamo deciso (insieme ad amici) di fondare una nostra compagnia teatrale. Volevamo che questa passione diventasse il nostro lavoro. È questa la storia della nascita di Capotrave.
K: Da cosa è caratterizzato il vostro modo di operare? Scrivete testi originali o preferite rielaborarli?
L: Finora abbiamo prodotto circa 15 spettacoli, con circa 50 repliche ciascuno in giro per l’Italia. Il 90% di questi sono stati scritti da noi, con la complessità che questo sottintende. Infatti per il pubblico è molto più semplice riconoscere spettacoli conosciuti come “Amleto“, piuttosto che “Piccola Patria“, il nostro ultimo lavoro. La difficoltà, da parte dello spettatore, è quindi quella di “fidarsi” di un qualcosa che non conosce.
Scrivendo insieme da molto tempo, abbiamo un meccanismo consolidato di scrittura e rilettura, attività svolte nei momenti più disparati (a cena, durante una passeggiata ecc.) che delle volte confonde vita privata e professionale. È comunque importante tenere separati i due aspetti quando serve. Ci vuole disciplina, anche perché a volte non è stato semplice mantenere i due mondi separati. Insomma, non è scontato ma… Adesso funziona!
K: Parliamo del rapporto con gli attori: lasciate loro libertà di improvvisare o preferite che si attengano al copione?
L: Un po’ e un po’. Durante le prove, a me piace mettere gli attori nella situazione giusta. Secondo me, “situazione” è una parola chiave del processo creativo. Non mi interessa che inizialmente gli attori siano perfetti nell’utilizzare le parole del testo. È importante che quel “tessuto di parole” ci sia e che lo conoscano, ma è altrettanto fondamentale che nella prima fase rimanga in secondo piano in modo da poter avere la possibilità di trovare qualcosa che nel testo non è presente, ma che assieme può diventare profondo. Dico sempre che quello che immagini nella tua stanza è sempre più piccolo di quello che poi scopri in sala prove, un luogo influenzato anche da emotività, fragilità, nervosismo e passione. Un insieme di situazioni che sono la vera vita del teatro.
Una volta passata questa prima fase, ritorna il testo, quasi come un completamento di ciò che è già stato trovato attraverso le attività precedenti.
K: Credete che i vostri spettacoli superino la prova del tempo?
L: Non tutti. Sicuramenti non i primi, che oggi non vorrei rifare, pur facendo parte di un percorso. Gli ultimi 6 o 7 invece, dal nostro punto di vista (comunque molto critico), meriterebbero più longevità (tenendo presente che ogni spettacolo ha la sua parabola per la quale si esaurisce).
K: Parliamo di “Piccola Patria“, il nuovo spettacolo: tratta un argomento di attualità? Ce lo descriveresti?
L: Il contesto dello spettacolo si riferisce al giorno precedente, il giorno stesso ed il giorno successivo ad un referendum in cui un piccolo centro in Italia decide di distaccarsi dal resto del Paese sulla base di una serie di vicende passate che avevano dichiarato una certa autonomia dovuta ad un errore nel tracciamento dei confini. Per gli abitanti del nostro territorio, questa è una vicenda che rievoca il caso Repubblica di Cospaia, anche se per noi non è stato questo il punto di partenza.
La vera ispirazione è derivata infatti dagli storici movimenti autonomisti, indipendentisti e dalla varie forme di sovranismo che “infettano” la discussione politica contemporanea. Solo nel momento in cui ci siamo immersi in una materia così ribollente, abbiamo capito che la storia di Cospaia poteva essere un punto di osservazione interessante. Questa è la prova che nei nostri spettacoli, il nostro territorio è, in qualche modo, sempre protagonista.
K: Per l’appunto, qual è il vostro rapporto con Sansepolcro? Nelle vostre produzione emergono degli elementi caratteristici?
L: Altrochè… Tantissimi!
È un rapporto d’amore. Siamo molto affezionati, anche perché ci ha permesso di costruire quello che è nato come un sogno. Insomma, pur non vivendoci (io e Lucia viviamo a Roma), la Valtiberina è sempre nei nostri pensieri! Anzi, forse proprio per questo ci siamo così affezionati. Come diceva Cesare Pavese, “avere un paese in cui tornare” è molto importante. Una frase che sottolinea come sia bello vedere il proprio paese anche a distanza.
In sostanza, l’importanza di vivere in una grande e stimolante città equivale a quella di tornare nel proprio luogo di nascita, anche perché per me la Valtiberina è casa, non Roma! Ecco perché nei nostri testi (dal primo all’ultimo) il racconto di questo posto è una parte molto evidente.
K: Passiamo a Kilowatt Festival… In quale ruolo ti identifichi maggiormente? Drammaturgo e regista o direttore artistico?
L: Si tratta di una riflessione sempre presente e molto stimolante nel nostro lavoro.
Inizialmente non avevamo ben chiaro cosa significasse un’attività come quella del Festival, da organizzatori teatrali: noi volevamo essere una compagnia. Poi abbiamo capito che l’opera da sola non era abbastanza e che doveva essere integrata con altre esperienze. L’idea è quindi nata da un’esigenza. Nel corso degli anni, ci siamo poi innamorati di questo nuovo ruolo e abbiamo capito che non era meno creativa del fare i propri spettacoli. Come nella vita, parlare e ascoltare vanno a braccetto: se non fatte insieme, una delle due funziona male.
Sono due facce della stessa medaglia che nutrono aspetti differenti. Per esempio, organizzare il festival ci ha insegnato ad essere concreti per rispettare gli impegni e rimanere con i piedi per terra. D’altro canto, durante gli spettacoli, si ha la possibilità di distanziarsi grazie ad un periodo nel quale ci si “allontana” da questo ritmo e dalle responsabilità che organizzare eventi implica. Proprio due facce della stessa medaglia che si completano.
K: Siamo ormai giunti alla 17° edizione del Kilowatt Festival, quali sono state negli anni le soddisfazioni più grandi? E quali invece le delusioni?
L: Una delle soddisfazioni maggiori siete voi! Mi piace pensare che nel nostro territorio sia diventato possibile fare un qualcosa che sia legato ai linguaggi contemporanei dalla musica all’arte visiva.
Agli albori del nostro progetto, stavamo per intraprendere un percorso che ci avrebbe portate verso una situazione nuova per il territorio, e il fatto che oggi esistano altre realtà in città, che con i propri mezzi ed interessi provino delle loro passioni un lavoro è una grande soddisfazione. Quindi, lo nostra vera soddisfazione sta nel dimostrare che anche in Valtiberina si può avere ambizione e puntare alla costruzione di progetti anche internazionali che non scendono a compromessi pensando che alle persone non interesserà mai. È stato dimostrato che ci sono delle persone vogliose di dimostrare il loro interesse verso orizzonti non banali. Percepisco che siamo una minoranza, ma anche solamente aumentare il numero di interessati corrisponde all’aver raggiunto un grande obiettivo.
Le delusioni, invece, sono nate tutte le volte in cui vieni “letto” per come non sei veramente, in base ad un qualcosa di scorrelato con quello che stai facendo.
La cultura è un lusso ed è l’identità della società occidentale. Dobbiamo difendere la cultura nel suo essere un lusso, nel suo essere un costo (necessario affinché accada), perché essa sviluppa qualcosa che è infinitamente più prezioso per le persone. Socialità, pensiero… Un modo diverso di stare con gli altri, aprirsi e capire che si può imparare dal prossimo: questa è la vera ricchezza derivante dalla cultura! Far corrispondere tutto questo al denaro è deludente. Fortunatamente c’è chi ne ha la giusta visione ed è questo ciò che va apprezzato.
K: Perché unirsi ai Visionari?
L: Perché credo che sia una straordinaria esperienza di cittadinanza attiva. Un modo per dire “la mia voce arriva in un tavolo in cui si prendono delle decisioni culturali”, “io esisto”, “io valgo”!
Il vero valore per noi non è l’esperienza (se non della vita), ma la predisposizione delle persone a fare un viaggio, un’avventura intellettuale fatta di momenti noiosi e divertenti in cui si discute con gli altri, si esprime un punto di vista e si cerca di capire che si può andare oltre alla società del “mi piace” approfondendo il motivo di una scelta o di un gusto per dare un senso più ampio al tutto.
Si tratta inoltre di un progetto trasversale, per parlare alla pari indipendentemente dall’età, dall’esperienza e dalle storie vissute.
