M: Sinceramente farla uscire ad inizio estate è stata proprio una scelta mirata da parte mia, dei Luci da Labbra che mi hanno prodotto e di 3menda dischi, la mia label. Abbiamo puntato sulle atmosfere estive di cui racconta Festivalbar ed effettivamente si è rivelata una scelta saggia visto che il brano è riuscito a scalare diverse classifiche nazionali e ad essere spesso citato come “tormentone estivo”. Me lo aspettavo? Sì, perché il brano funziona!
K: Ascoltare il brano è un po’ come viaggiare nel tempo: guardi con particolare nostalgia gli anni ’80? Cosa ti ha portato a raccontarli?
M: Gli anni ’80 sono un argomento molto complesso. Erano anni spaventati dallo stragismo e dall’AIDS… La musica era Pop, almeno per me, ma il Pop degli anni ’80 aveva per forza di cose una vena di malinconia e di noia che non tradiva lo stato d’animo, anche nei brani più ballabili. Di certo l’avvento delle macchine e delle nuove sonorità elettroniche fu però, a mio avviso, una delle evoluzioni musicali più interessanti di sempre!
Ci tornerei? Mai e poi mai, ma so che era un momento storico e artistico al quale molti sono rimasti legati e raccontarlo nella sua forma più leggera è stato divertente.
K: Come definiresti il percorso musicale che ti ha portato fin qui?
M: Beh… Sicuramente lungo, ma fatto di tante informazioni, di influenze molto varie, di studio, di esperienze su qualsiasi tipo di palco, dal concertino con gli amici ai concorsi musicali più noti in Italia come Arezzo Wave e Heineken Jammin Festival passando per diverse consolle.
K: Quali generi e/o artisti ti hanno influenzato maggiormente?
M: Devo ammetterlo, ho ascoltato tantissimi generi diversi, ma la musica House è stata sicuramente la forma musicale più invadente per la mia anima. Vicino a lei Prince e Lucio Battisti!
K: Come descriveresti l’esperienza del Jova Beach Party insieme a DJ Ralf?
M: Ahahah, la posso solo raccontare dai video che ho visto. Quando ero lì sinceramente non ci ho capito molto. Troppe emozioni tutte insieme che si annullavano l’una con l’altra. Però guardando i video ho pensato: “lo dicevo io che dovevo fare questo lavoro!” E farlo insieme a Ralf è uno spasso!
