«Penso che di modi per arrivare ad un folto pubblico se ne trovino ovunque. «A me piacciono molto i testi delle canzoni, li ritengo parte integrante ed immancabile. Mi piace molto studiarli, i testi: ci lavoro sempre sopra nell’andare ad ascoltare nuovi brani. Essendo anche un appassionato del cantautorato italiano, mi sono portato tale pezzo perché ha un testo che, a mio avviso, è attualissimo. Quando mi hanno poi chiesto di suonare qualcosa al pianoforte, ho scelto “La Leva Calcistica” perché è un pezzo che porto nel cuore.»
Quanto la presenza del proprio dialetto può influire nel modo di cantare in italiano?
«Onestamente, nel parlato è molto più complicato che durante un’esibizione: nonostante mi venga attribuita una buona dizione quando canto, riconosco che parlando sia più difficoltoso.»

«Con la musica ci sono nato, potrei dire che la stessi ascoltando appena uscito dalla pancia! (ride)
Ho un ricordo limpido di quando andavo a casa di mia nonna: lei aveva dei mestoli in cucina, e puntualmente io ne prendevo un paio per tenerci il ritmo e canticchiare sopra il suono che producevo… Ho perso il conto di quanti ne ho rotti, ma penso sia una dimostrazione di cos’è per me la musica. Pian piano è diventata una cosa di cui non potrei fare a meno, non c’è un giorno in cui non mi metto al piano o alla chitarra, addirittura mi ritrovo a cantare senza che me ne accorga…
È proprio un legame indissolubile e se sei riconoscente nei suoi confronti sarà eternamente saldo.»

«Premetto che, per quanto sono ampi i miei gusti musicali, è una scelta che mi torna difficile. Se dovessi guardare nel programma internazionale, sceglierei i Beatles, ma per principio preferisco valorizzare la musica italiana e cantare in italiano.»

«Nonostante c’è chi dice che la trap stia rovinando la musica italiana, io continuo a credere che cose buone se ne trovino ancora. Ad esempio, ho apprezzato tanto il pezzo che Enrico Nigiotti ha portato a Sanremo. A tal proposito, anche Cristicchi ha portato una canzone con un testo fantastico.»
Hai qualche progetto in corso?
«Durante l’inverno, con la scuola e tutto, è un po’ complicato pianificare qualcosa… A partire da quest’estate sicuramente ho intenzione di passare il mio tempo tra concorsi ed esibizioni. Intanto ho tentato ad iscrivermi al New York Canta, anche se non sarà una passeggiata perché le selezioni si limitano a 5 artisti. Ai concorsi, in generale mi presento come cantautore quindi porto le mie canzoni, che compongo in ogni momento libero che ho.
Mi piace pensare che il mio futuro possa essere legato alla musica, anche se eventualmente non da cantautore: dietro ai grandi ci sono persone che nonostante non compaiano svolgono un enorme lavoro, e non mi dispiacerebbe poterne far parte. Anche il maestro di musica è un ruolo che trovo affascinante e di tutto rispetto.»
