Al giorno d’oggi ascoltare musica di qualità, e soprattutto, italiana, è molto difficile. Per i rocker come me che vogliono sentire la grinta, la rabbia, la passione, dire quello che sentono senza problemi dritto in faccia e sentirsi saziati dai riff potentissimi, è sempre una grande esperienza. Ma oggi sono qui per presentarvi una band di Sansepolcro/Arezzo composta dagli amici Mario Caruso – Chitarra e voce, Nicola Mancini – Basso e Nicola Cigolini – Batteria che presentano tutto quello che ho detto dall’inizio, a ritmo di musica Stoner, con influenze Crossover, Rock e Hardcore: gli Allume.
È dall’anno scorso che li tengo d’occhio e alla fine ho avuto il piacere di vederli live a Sansepolcro, durante un concerto dove il rumore è la prima regola del giorno, ma dietro questo si nasconde una passione, tre ragazzi che ce la mettono tutta a farsi sentire, ma soprattutto il loro lavoro, dal titolo ODE in uscita il 7 Giugno… Il disco, composto da 10 tracce e il cui titolo è l’acronimo di Orizzonte Degli Eventi, è caratterizzato da sonorità Post-Stoner con sfumature Alternative Rock. I testi si snodano attorno a tre tematiche principali: l’ignoto, il dubbio e l’attesa, concetti che riassumono il malessere di chi vive assediato dai fantasmi del passato. In “Ode” una musica percepita come ruvida e rocciosa affianca testi che mettono a nudo le fragilità umane di ogni giorno.
I brani
La traccia d’apertura e Monumenti 1st con uno Stoner che ricorda un po’ i Queens of the Stone Age, un pezzo grintoso che ha i suoi momenti memorabili. Un pezzo più riflessivo è la seconda traccia dal titolo L’eco dei marinai, dal ritornello psichedelico, è un buon concentrato di Rock duro ma pieno di speranza. Hai Mai (con esitazione) dall’attacco furioso, a parer mio è il cuore del disco ma non solo, a tratti ricorda i Foo Fighters. Un altro pezzo servito in maniera molto egregia. In Stanze riaffiorano i ricordi come i già citati Queens of the Stone Age, il pezzo parla da sé.
Tra il buio e una parola, dal sound molto cupo e notturno, lento e introspettivo, è la traccia in cui si sentono molti più suoni, tastiere, effetti eterei di chitarra e altro ancora, vale la pena dedicargli un attento ascolto. Monumenti 2nd, il primissimo singolo che anticipava l’uscita del disco, ne è il centro, dove in alcuni punti della canzone si ritrovano già delle parole citate della traccia l’apertura, per esempio “voglio il nome”. Penelope è un grido di battaglia, dove il destino non fa paura: energica, coraggiosa che non guarda in faccia a nessuno. Le successive Ora e Nessun Perdono sono le tracce che precedono la chiusura del disco, una un po’ più Rock, l’altra dai tratti un po’ orientaleggianti. La conclusiva Monumenti 3rd, conclude l’album, sonorità eclettiche e esplosive, fanno giungere al termine un album molto variegato di generi.
Conclusioni
Tirando le somme ODE, è un disco dove si sente tutto Il decennio anni ’90 e anche un po’ di fine anni ’80, un ascolto omogeneo, che non ti stanca. Parlando dei musicisti, Mario con la sua chitarra crea suoni molti particolari non limitandosi solo della solita distorsione, Nicola con il suo basso si fa veramente sentire e mi ha fatto molto piacere che il basso in questo disco non sia stato trascurato, l’altro Nicola invece con la batteria… Beh, c’è poco da dire: un pazzo, la classica batteria furiosa che si sente nel Rock ma allo stesso tempo anche chirurgico. Il disco scorre veramente bene all’ascolto e non posso fare altro che consigliare l’acquisto, e soprattutto di sbatterci la testa.
