Eleonora- Aspetta domani e sarà tutto un cinguettio di maiali fra i rami.
Goffredo è il più infimo tra i figli della famiglia reale. Nessuno dei genitori lo vorrebbe al trono ma lui sarebbe capace di creare alleanze con chiunque a suon di doppio e triplo gioco e venderebbe pure la madre al Diavolo per assicurarsi un buon posto di comando. Eleonora, però, pare saper bene tutto ciò ed infatti gli preferisce il più Fedele Riccardo. Il futuro Cuor di Leone pare il migliore solo perché è quasi impossibile essere peggio dei due fratelli: viene mostrato come fiero, introverso, riflessivo e quasi magnanimo anche se queste caratteristiche potrebbero rivelarsi maschere di un animo considerato troppo fragile per l’epoca.

Ma i veri protagonisti di tutta la vicenda sono gli affascinanti sovrani d’Inghilterra: un uomo capace di imprigionare in una torre la propria moglie dopo che questa ha innescato una guerra civile contro di lui, di baciare ed elogiare la nuova concubina davanti agli occhi di lei solo perché questo le crea tormento, contro una donna pronta a mettere tutta la sua prole contro al marito per vendicarsi dei tradimenti subiti sul talamo nuziale ed a ricordargli che metà del regno lo ha ricevuto per merito suo e che ancora le appartiene. L’una costantemente contro l’altro eppure eccoli amarsi ancora tanto nonostante le taglienti parole dette in faccia e le lapidi tombali donate come regali di Natale. Continueranno ad essere sempre l’uno la dolce metà dell’altro. Due facce d’una stessa medaglia.
Meravigliose le scene in cui i due dialogano da soli passando con ritmo vorticoso da insulti e stoccate sentimentali a lacrime e strazianti dichiarazioni poiché Eleonora sa di amare ancora quel rude re straniero come la prima volta che lo conobbe ed Enrico sa che non troverà mai nessun’altra donna tanto forte e grande da tenergli di testa.
Entrambi grandi per le abilità strategiche i nobili lignaggi. Entrambi però così miseri a causa degli animi soggiogati dai distinti passionali. Insomma entrambi così umani.
È proprio questo che rende questa pellicola un lavoro senza tempo, quasi come un’opera di William Shakespeare e spero di non essere tacciato di blasfemia per tale affermazione.
Proprio come in un’opera del Bardo di Stratford-upon-Avon l’animo umano viene scandagliato a fondo e si mostrano i vari aspetti quasi istintivi che portano ognuno di noi riconoscersi anche in un sol piccolo particolare.
Sappiamo bene che l’amare troppo ci può portare poi ad odiare fortemente una cosa/persona e, per quanto possa essere malvagia come affermazione, dentro ognuno di noi vi è una piccola fiamma di egoismo che ci porterebbe a mettere i nostri interessi davanti a tutto. Pure ai legami di sangue. Aver usato un linguaggio contemporaneo aiuta ancora più l’assimilazione con quanto sta accadendo. Sentiamo nobili imprecare e interloquire senza adoperare formule arcaiche e pompose. Anzi: i dialoghi al fulmicotone saranno fra le cose più sorprendenti, divertenti e argute che avrete mai udito. La storia potrebbe essere ambientata ai giorni nostri, magari tra le mura di una ricca compagnia industriale, e continuerebbe a funzionare benissimo.
