Il direttore artistico Luca Ricci racconta come il gruppo è riuscito a raggiungere un obiettivo apparentemente utopistico e il perché della scelta del titolo “Viaggio al termine della notte”:
Le difficoltà dell’organizzazione
Il punto di partenza è stato crederci, anche in quei momenti di marzo e aprile quando sembrava impossibile pensare che sarebbe stato possibile. Abbiamo lavorato con una squadra di collaboratori tenaci e motivati che, anche senza prendere lo stipendio per tre mesi, non hanno smesso un momento di lavorare a questa edizione ed è soprattutto merito loro se oggi siamo uno dei pochissimi festival italiani a non aver cancellato questa edizione. Senza le autorizzazioni dell’amministrazione comunale e le economie investite da Regione Toscana e Ministero della Cultura non saremmo qui: soprattutto la Regione ci ha ricosciuto un contributo straordinario che ha reso possibile attuare tutte le misure di sanificazione necessarie all’andata in scena. E poi ci sono gli artisti: anche lor si assumono una responsabilità non da poco nello scegliere di esserci, pur avendo creato e lavorato in condizioni proibitive. Insomma, Kilowatt 2020 è stato ed è uno sforzo collettivo e complicatissimo. Adesso speriamo che i cittadini di Sansepolcro e dintorni ci siano vicini comprando biglietti (sono già in vendita online) e venendo agli spettacoli del festival: in questa edizione abbiamo bisogno più che mai di sentire che il nostro territorio ci è vicino!
Il perchè del titolo
Il titolo è quello di un libro del celebre autore francese Louis Ferdinand Celine. L’idea centrale di quel libro è che le nottin non finiscono mai una volta per tutte, ma che con l’oscurità che sta fuori e dentro di noi dobbiamo imparare a convivere: quei demoni sono parte di noi e non ha senso allontanarli o pensare di poterli mettere fuori dalla porta una volta per tutte. A noi è sembrato che questo pensiero fotografsse perfettamente la situazione di incertezza con cui ci troviamo a coabitare in questo momento. Al termine di ogni notte, c’è l’alba di un nuovo giorno.
